Believers Fellowship

FAQ

Q: Why has Believers Fellowship made the younger generations the target of their ministry?

A: There are two basic reasons:

Firstly, data collected from churches across America indicate that there is about a 20 year gap between the age of people attending church and the general population. Unless "we" target the emerging generations the church of America will be facing a real survival crisis.

Secondly, statistics indicate that the great majority of people come to know the Lord before they are 20 years of age. Targeting people under the age of 20 is simply working smarter.

Q: What kind of a Church are you?

A: This is a loaded question that is frequently asked by people who are "searching" for a Church home.

(You will find more information on the "What We Believe" page)

We are an Independent, Main-Stream Evangelical, Bible-Centric, Contemporary-Worshiping blend of Charismatic and non-Charismatic Believers. You should probably just "try" us out.

Q: What is your main Sunday morning service like?

A: Our service runs for about 1.5 hours.

It is a balance between contemporary worship and Bible teaching. We encourage people to drink coffee and to talk to each other during a time specifically designed for fellowship ”making the service friendlier.

We do some Body-Life ministry allowing people to pray with and for other people and don't let this scare you, because we don't force anyone to do anything that they are uncomfortable with.

Q: Do you sing Hymns or contemporary choruses?

A: We actually do both.

We generally sing a hymn because we feel that our connection to the historical church is important. We mainly sing contemporary choruses and new hymns, because it is important for each generation to reach out to God with the worship that He has placed in their hearts.

Our worship style is definitely contemporary, but full of awe and wonder as we worship our God and King.

Q: How is Believers Fellowship organized and governed?

A: Believers Fellowship is lead by three teams of leaders.

Firstly, there is a team of Elders who (shepherd) take care of the people and who provide spiritual oversight.

Next we have a Board of Directors who are responsible for the business of the corporation.

Lastly, we have a pastoral staff that runs the day-to-day programs and ministries of the fellowship.

All three of these leadership teams are accountable to the membership of Believers Fellowship.

Q: Do you believe that Spiritual Gifts are for today?

A: This gets into the Theological struggle that exists between Charismatic and Non-Charismatic Believers.

The answer is simple, the way we live it out is challenging. God is alive and moving in His people today. He gives spiritual gifts according to His own will.

In all cases, the corporate use of spiritual gifts must always be done decently and in order, otherwise they¯ will think that we are crazy.

Q: What is the main thing that you champion in your teaching and practice as a fellowship?

A: That people would come to know God, and they would be encouraged to love the Lord, our God with all their heart, mind, strength and soul.

Secondly, that we would be a fellowship where we love one another as Christ has loved us.
